Can a company denied employment to someone, if this person has been charged?

Indira Wassell: Companies can deny employment for many reasons. The government does not yet have the right to select potential employees.

Phillip Modafferi: This is the United States of America, and since we are a free country so a company can deny employment for any reason unless we start to go the way of communism.

Dawn Saha: Yes. It's called a background check.

Arnoldo Budzynski: Sure. The law says people can't be denied employment because of their race, sex, religion, national origin, and in some states, sexual orientation. Other than that, they can hire who they want.

Manual Burtis: Most states are right to work and under this unless they are discriminating against race, sex, etc they have the right to choose who they hire
