Networking 2 Computers?

If you are talking about a standard small network, just to transfer files etc. Then you can go to control panel, network or network and sharing center. Then you can select on the side. "Setup connection or network" this will set up a network on 1 machine but not the other. Make sure that both computers are under the same network name. Such as both under workgroup. Then you will be able to do that.You will need to setup a server if you want to manage profiles etc....Show more

Nikita Schroepfer: First of all you either need to have a crossover cable, or make sure that both network cards can support auto-crossover.Remote desktop allows you to log into another computer as if you were at the other terminal - same desktop, user passwords etc. But if you're running Remote Desktop on anything other than a server class operating system (Server 2000/Server 2003) then only one person can use computer 1 at a t! ime.
